One of the best books I own and read over and over is “The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind” by Dr Joseph Murphy.

I bought the book in 1995 when I was going through financial difficulties.

Reading the book and working on my subconscious mind I managed to retire in 1998.

In 2006 I followed my passion and started teaching others my success secrets so they could also retire.

I personally do not believe in retiring! I am going to give you some very interesting facts about “retirement” in a future article.

Now back to an extract form Joseph Murphy’s book:

“You have a mind, and you should learn how to use it. There are two levels of your mind – the conscious or rational level, and the subconscious or irrational level.

You think with your conscious mind, and whatever you habitually think sinks down into your subconscious mind, which creates according to the nature of your thoughts.

Your subconscious mind is the seat of your emotions and is the creative mind.

If you think good, good will follow; if you think evil, evil will follow. This is the way your mind works.

The main point to remember is once the subconscious mind accepts an idea, it begins to execute it.

It is an interesting and subtle truth that the law of the subconscious mind works for good and bad ideas alike. This law, when applied in a negative way, is the cause of failure, frustration, and unhappiness.

However, when your habitual thinking is harmonious and constructive, you experience perfect health, success, and prosperity.”

Read more about the power of your subconscious mind - Click here

“In order to change external conditions, you must change the cause.

Most men try to change conditions and circumstances by working with conditions and circumstances.

To remove discord, confusion, lack, and limitation, you must remove the cause, and the cause is the way you are using your conscious mind.

In other words, the way you are thinking and picturing in your mind.”

You can fast track this whole process - Click here

“Your subconscious mind takes the orders you give it based upon what your conscious mind believes and accepts as true.”

To Do: Affirm the following affirmation by Emile Coue – everyday:

“Every day and in every way I am getting better and better”

P.S. Your thoughts create your reality

This is a blog post from one of The Streetwise Millionaire Mentors – Brenda van Straaten

All too often we repeat an action or a pattern of behaviour, over and over and over again, always expecting a different result.

We do this in relationships, in business, with our finances, our lifestyle, our health, etc.

We often live so unconsciously that we don’t even know we’re repeating the same mistakes.

Alternatively, we know we are, but we allow our bad habits to run us, rather than grooving in good habits!

And it’s our bad habits that lead to making the wrong choices.

COACHING TIP:

If we’re not getting what we want we either don’t have the correct knowledge or we’re simply not doing what we need to do.

We’re therefore not doing the right actions or we’re making the wrong choices based on bad habits or wrong knowledge.

Become aware of what choices you’re making and the actions you’re taking.

Note how these choices make you feel.

It’s easy to choose to do something, and it’s easy to choose not to do something.

When you make the right choices you do the right actions and when you do the right actions you grow, you experience:

An increase in self-respect – feeling good about who you are, your behaviour and your actions

An increase in self-confidence – believing and trusting more in yourself and your abilities

An increase in energy

An increase in the willingness to get more done

An increase in interest and involvement in people, projects, life

An overall sense of more life and living!

Humorous, but also a lesson to be learnt:

Blonde walks into Absa in Johannesburg and asks for the loans dept. She says she’s going to Europe on business for three weeks and needs to borrow R10, 000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank, she has the papers and everything checked out.

Absa agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank manager and its staff all enjoy a good laugh at the blonde for using a R5, 000,000 Rolls as collateral against a R10, 000 loan.

An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Rolls into the bank’s underground garage and parks it there.

Two weeks later, the blonde returns, repays the R10, 000 and the interest, which comes to R141.66

The bank manager says, “Miss, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled.

While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire.

What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow R10, 000?”

The blond replies … ‘Where else in Johannesburg can I park my car for two weeks for only R141.66 and expect it to be there when I return?’

Finally, a gifted blonde!!!!

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, When 24 Hours in a day is not enough, Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full? They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. Read to the end of this story by clicking on more…

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided,

I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things – family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else — The small stuff.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” He continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, You will never have room for the things that are important to you. So… Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first -the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled.

“I’m glad you asked”. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

Received the above via email from Donna Rhodes

Did you know that the more productive you are the happier you will be ?

If you are feeling low, depressed or not yourself – get busy and do things that are bringing you closer to your goals.

Get busy and into present time.

I have mentioned in previous Wealth Tips that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel or have any special talents, luck, money or even an education to be successful.

Just copy other successful people and do what they do !

It’s that simple.

I read an article titled “One Amazing Woman” by Glenda Thompson in a publication called Business in Durban about Margaret Hirsch of Hirsch’s Appliance stores. Read more about this amazing women….

Hirsch’s are the largest independently owned appliance company in Southern Africa.

I also got some more information about Margaret on the web, from Tame Times – titled “Margaret Hirsch – a woman of substance.”

I have been dealing with Margaret and her husband Alan for many years, even when they only had one tiny store in Durban.

I extracted certain sections from the articles because I personally can relate to them and I am sure you will find them inspiring:

“When she was 12, her father died leaving her mother to fend for herself and two small children.

Margaret’s strong sense of survival and her positive attitude helped pull her little family through the tough times.”

“Having had to battle from an early age, she found that it is possible, through sheer determination and a positive attitude to get ahead.”

“Margaret regards herself as a “jack of all trades”, having done the selling, invoicing, demonstrating, being a delivery person on the trucks, installing and demonstrating in customers’ homes and generally taking care of everything at Hirschs for the past 31 years.

“We have built Hirsch’s from a tiny little store to a billion rand company and I hope that I will be an inspiration to others to know that they can live their dreams as well.”

“We have been offered huge amounts of money to sell the business, but to me it’s a way of life. I think the greatest challenge in
running a family owned business is to teach your children from a very young age that they have to work really hard to get ahead. You have to keep working every day of your life.”

A day in Margaret’s life:

An average day in the family starts at 4:00 a.m when Margaret and Alan get up to meditate.

From 5.a.m. to 6.oo a.m. they are at the gym.

They are at their desks at 7.00 a.m. the latest.

A full working day is followed by evening meetings with suppliers and planning meetings for future expansion.

Bed-time is at 11.30 p.m. – not a routine for the faint hearted.

“While other companies were talking about the recession, we have grown 20% year-on-year and look forward to continued growth.”

I am sure you will find the above very inspiring.

What’s more important is that Margaret and her family are doing incredible things for the community by “giving back”.

To Do:

Find someone who is successful and has integrity that you would like to copy.

You don’t even have to know the person – you can read about them. Most successful people who have integrity will share their success secrets because they want the world to be a better place.

Take “baby steps” and “develop good habits” which will make it easy for you to copy them.

Stay away from negative people or people that hold you back from your life purpose.

Stop reading the newspapers or listening to the news

Get out of your comfort zone and be the person you really want to be

Enjoy the journey, grow and have patience.

QUOTE

Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right.

These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity. ~ Mark Twain

P.S. Don’t miss out – click here

Liz my partner recently went to an ATM and her credit card was cloned – please be very careful – there was obviously a hidden camera.

I have just received this e mail – rather be safe than sorry.

SCENE 1.

A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings in the locker. After the workout and a shower, he came out, saw the locker open, and thought to himself, ‘Funny, I thought I locked the locker…
Hmm, ‘He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make sure all was in order.

Everything looked okay – all cards were in place….

A few weeks later his credit card bill came – a whooping bill of R14,000!
He called the credit card company and started yelling at them, saying that he did not make the transactions.

Customer care personnel verified that there was no mistake in the system and
asked if his card had been stolen…

‘No,’ he said, but then took out his wallet, pulled out the credit card, and yep – you guessed it – a switch had been made.

An expired similar credit card from the same bank was in the wallet.
The thief broke into his locker at the gym and switched cards.

Verdict: The credit card issuer said since he did not report the card missing earlier, he would have to pay the amount owed to them.

How much did he have to pay for items he did not buy? R9,000! Why were there no calls made to verify the amount swiped? Small amounts rarely trigger a ‘warning bell’ with some credit card companies. It just so happens that all the small amounts added up to big one!

Read more about other scams

============================

SCENE 2.

A man at a local restaurant paid for his meal with his credit card.

The bill for the meal came, he signed it and the waitress folded the receipt and passed the credit card along.

Usually, he would just take it and place it in his wallet or pocket. Funny enough, though, he actually took a look at the card and, lo and behold, it was the expired card of another person.
He called the waitress and she looked perplexed.

She took it back, apologized, and hurried back to the counter under the watchful eye of the man.

All the waitress did while walking to the counter was wave the wrong expired card to the counter cashier,
and the counter cashier immediately looked down and took out the real card.
No exchange of words — nothing! She took it and came back to the man with an apology..

Verdict: Make sure the credit cards in your wallet are yours.

Check the name on the card every time you sign for something and/or the card is taken away
for even a short period of time.

Many people just take back the credit card without even looking at it, ‘assuming’ that it has to be theirs.

FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DEVELOP THE HABIT OF CHECKING YOUR CREDIT CARD EACH TIME IT IS RETURNED TO YOU AFTER A TRANSACTION!

==========================

SCENE 3: This one took me by surprise. I would never thought to check on this

Yesterday I went into a pizza restaurant to pick up an order that I had called in.

I paid by using my Visa Check Card which, of course, is linked directly to my checking Account.

The young man behind the counter took my card, swiped it, then laid it on the counter as he waited for the approval, which is pretty standard procedure.

While he waited, he picked up his cell phone and started dialing
I noticed the phone because it is the same model I have, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Then I heard a click that sounded like my phone sounds when I take a picture.
He then gave me back my card but kept the phone in his hand as if he was still pressing buttons.
Meanwhile, I’m thinking: I wonder what he is taking a picture of, oblivious to what was really going on.
It then dawned on me: the only thing there was my credit card, so now I’m paying close
attention to what he is doing.. He set his phone on the counter, leaving it open.
About five seconds later, I heard the chime that tells you that the picture has been saved.
Now I’m standing there struggling with the fact that this boy just took a picture of my credit card.

Yes, he played it off well, because had we not had the same kind of phone,
I probably would never have known what happened.

Needless to say, I immediately cancelled that card as I was walking out of the pizza parlor

All I am saying is, be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Whenever you are using your credit card take caution and don’t be careless.
Notice who is standing near you and what they are doing when you use your card.
Be aware of phones, because many have a camera phone these days.

Never let your card out of your sight…..check and check again!

In the 1990s when we were going through a recession, times were extremely tough, especially for me.

I made a big mistake and borrowed 5 million from the banks which I invested in the stock market. This is the equivalent of about R15 Million today.

I lost it all because of that dirty word “GREED”

I was technically bankrupt after being extremely wealthy. I owned businesses, lots of properties and was financially free. .

Believe me, I went through hell. You name any negative emotion – I experienced it and worse.

On two occasions I couldn’t take anymore and was very close to committing suicide.

I then thought of the people in my life and how this would affect them. I thought I cannot leave them in this mess. They will never be able to handle it. I realised that committing suicide was the easy way out.

I decided I was going to get out of my mess and took action…

In a matter of 8 years I got out of debt and created even more money than I had before.

What’s more important – through my hardships and experiences, I have developed the ability to help others get out of debt, create more money and become wealthy.

There is nothing more satisfying than helping others change conditions in their lives for the better.

Why am I telling you this story ?

There are many people right now experiencing tough times not only financially but also in their relationships and health.

I know exactly what you are going through.

The easy and selfish way out is to give up as I nearly did.

I don’t care how big a problem you have – nothing lasts forever . You can overcome any problem if you make up your mind to do so.

Never give up !

Many of us have heard the term “blog”, but I mean really. What is a blog?

A blog (a blend of the term web log) is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (art blog), photographs (photoblog), videos (video blogging), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Microblogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.

As of 16 February 2011, there were over 156 million public blogs in existence.
